Event Types
The WBI hosts a different event each month, including the following types of programs:
Training Seminars
Our training seminars cover topics ranging from
business, such as "Tax Planning Tips for the
Woman Business Owner," to personal, such as
"Networking in a Down Economy." All topics are derived
from suggestions we receive from our clients, woman
business owners. In order to provide a good learning
environment, we try to limit our class sizes to
approximately 35 people. Because we understand that
it is difficult for business owners to leave their
businesses, we hold our seminars during the lunch
hour and even provide the meal. If you have a
suggestion for a topic for our training seminars,
please email us at SBWBI@banksterling.com.
Networking Events
We hold a networking event at the end of
every quarter (March, June, September, and December).
This program is strictly for women
business owners who wish to network with each other.
It gives everyone an
opportunity to support one another and to
promote their businesses. The events are held from
5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at a different location each quarter.
If you would like to meet
women just like you, please sign up. You might
even win a great door prize!
Luncheons
Sterling Bank holds its annual
Women's Business Initiative Luncheon every May.
We invite a panel of speakers to talk and
answer questions on an important topic
pertinent to women business owners. Each
panel comprises women who have achieved
success in that field, as well as experienced
women business owners who will offer their
insights on the topic. The lunch is provided
by Sterling Bank. In November 2003, the
WBI hosted its first annual charity
luncheon, which benefited Dress for Success.
