Opening Reception Generates $5,000 Donation Made to Dallas Can!
DALLAS, TEXAS (April 7, 2004) — Sterling Bank, which specializes in banking and financial services to businesses and is one of the largest independent banks in Texas, has opened a third Dallas-area office in the Uptown area.
The bank marked the opening with a reception held Tuesday that included the donation of $5,000 to Dallas Can! and an appearance by WFAA-TV sportscaster Dale Hansen.
Sterling Bank also has offices in the Brookhollow and Galleria areas of Dallas along with 33 other locations in Houston and San Antonio. Another office is planned for Garland. Sterling Bank is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and is known for providing customers with access to decision-makers at the local level.
Long-time Dallas banker Brig North, CEO of the Uptown Office, welcomed guests at the reception along with Sterling Bank executives Downey Bridgwater, president and chief executive officer; Clinton Dunn, regional CEO; and Lynn Prude, CEO of the Dallas Brookhollow and Galleria offices.
Accepting the donation to Dallas Can! was its founder and president emeritus Grant East, and Hansen, a major supporter of Dallas Can! and spokesperson for the organization.
"Sterling Bank has experienced tremendous growth in the few years we have served Dallas," Clinton Dunn said. "Placing an office in Uptown will help us continue that growth as well as make banking easier for customers who own businesses in the area."
Dallas Can!, the first in what is now a five-city network of Texans Can!, helps at-risk youth complete high school through its charter school programs. Since the organization’s inception in 1985, more than 25,000 students have enrolled in its programs.
"Sterling Bank chose to mark the opening of our Uptown office with a donation to a nonprofit organization because our customers’ success depends on the strength of their communities," Brig North said. "Dallas Can! fortifies the community by ensuring that this area’s youth are educated."
